Obama's Surplus

President Obama, have you noticed that despite explaining what you want to happen, people don't understand? It's because you're too wordy.

Minimalism
Saturday, 22 August 2009

I looked at a picture painted white with a dot
White, with that black dot and I thought
Why bother painting that black dot in the middle
With the white all around it, makes it so little
Just a little black dot all surrounded by white
And I look at this painting and think that I might
Punch a hole through that painting with the fist of my hand
And show that white painting that I was a man
And it looked like it was made by a child
Who was given a paintbrush and told to go wild
But the child was retarded, only managed to poke
The canvass with the brush with the black with a stroke.

Where I Be
Saturday, 01 August 2009

I haven't made a video for a while. This is my excuse.  Four months ago I quit smoking. This made me sad, sad, sad, and edgy and lethargic and completely uninspired to do anything to the point where, if I did anything, it was going to be crap. So, surprise, surprise, I did some things and they were crap.

Why Postmodernism?
Friday, 19 June 2009
Many of you come to me asking, “Why did you stop doing philosophy?” “Why is there no future in philosophy?” and most of all, “For heaven's sake, why postmodernism?” This is after I published my book, The Absurdity of Philosophy, which is itself the whole of my reason for leaving philosophy. The three questions are tied together. Postmodernism shows no future in philosophical endeavors, the problems postmodernism brings to the table are inescapable, and thus, there is no reason to go prattling on about philosophy.

Stay Home, Be Safe
Thursday, 14 May 2009
“Stay home, be safe.” That's what the people on TV told me to do, that's what I'm gonna do, and you can't make me do otherwise. It's not safe if it's not home. You go out, and the people on the TV turn you into something. Like my aunt Betty. She was just a normal woman until the people on TV came and called her my aunt Betty.

Orville's Story
Tuesday, 21 April 2009
I think it's about time you hear the story of Orville, son of Wilbur from Charlotte's Web—though he's not really the son of Wilbur. Their stories are similar and that's why we called him that. Orville was a pig that lived on my grandpa's farm.

Be Kind
Tuesday, 07 April 2009
Stop me if you've heard this one. The sun and the cloud were hanging out in the sky one day, discussing the political climates of the lands below and the fundamentals of governance, beginning with Machiavelli and ending with Hitler. The cloud was convinced that brute force was the only way to effectively rule people. The sun thought it might be better to rule with kindness.

X vs. O
Sunday, 22 March 2009
“XOXO” the letter concluded
and left us confused as to which letter alluded
to hugs and which letter alluded to kisses
To know which was which in letters from misses
My arms make an O, but our arms make an X
And my lips make an O, especially in sex
But X is nowhere, except for my eyes
When I shut my eyes tight and prepare for surprise
So it seems pretty clear that X is embrace
And O is for when I make my O-face.
But some people just won't put X in that spot
They think the reverse, which is likewise, but not.
